After 15 years in Mayfair, our lease has ended due to the landlord's development plans for the site, so Murray Birrell has moved to 40 Gracechurch Street, in the heart of the City of London. We are excited about this move, which will enhance our presence in London and offer us improved and more extensive facilities, including additional spaces on Portman Street and Piccadilly.
History of Gracechurch Street
As chartered surveyors, we couldn’t help but delve a little bit into the history of our new office in the City of London. Gracechurch, formerly known as Gracious Street, was a prominent late Anglo-Saxon street, likely constructed around the same time as London Bridge in the tenth or eleventh century, providing access to the bridge.
Gracechurch Street was also a key location on the royal processional route. When a king or queen entered the City from the Tower, they would stop on Gracechurch Street to witness the first of a series of pageants prepared to welcome the new monarch.
Petts Wood Office
Additionally, we are in the process of renewing our Lease at our Petts Wood office, where we have been operating since 1992. This is still a key location for us, especially with a number of projects in Kent and the surrounding areas.
We believe these changes will strengthen our firm, allowing us to grow and thrive. These are exciting times for us, and we look to the future with confidence.
