Grosvenor Crescent

Grosvenor Crescent

Grosvenor Crescent was a major residential development in Belgravia involving the demolition of some of the existing buildings and structure within part of the site. The works included the retention of the associated façade, the refurbishment of remaining buildings, together with formation of a basement, in order to provide 13 high-end residential units with open terraces and internal glazed atriums. Acting on behalf of Grosvenor, Murray Birrell’s role was to undertake a development monitoring role in order to ensure compliance with a development agreement.

It involved liaison with the developer, contractor and their teams, together with some neighbourly issues relating to access and use of the private mews.

Monthly inspections were carried out and a report describing progress, quality, statutory compliance, health & safety issues and compliance with the development agreement was issued on a regular basis.

The role included liaison with Grosvenor’s retained engineers, and also solicitors in respect of oversailing and scaffold licences.
